The Tool and Gauge Manufacturers Association (TAGMA) of India is planning the largest international die and mould exhibition ever to be staged in India. The sixth biennial event in a series, DieMould India 2008 will take place February 15–18 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore, the capital and economic hub of Karnataka state in southern India.
The first four DieMould exhibitions were staged in Mumbai (Bombay), with the 2006 edition in Chennai (Madras). DieMould 2008 is the first in the series to be mounted in Bangalore. The organizers see the success of the DieMould series continuing next year, as the number of exhibitors steadily grows from one show to the next.
In fact, the exhibition space available in the BIEC is more than twice that offered in Chennai two years ago, to accommodate interested exhibitors from all areas of the tooling industry. Four times as many international exhibitors as in 2006 are expected to participate in DieMould 2008.
The visitor contingent at DieMould 2008 also will have a strong international flavour. Visitors and exhibitors from Australia, North America, and Europe, as well as India’s Asian neighbours, have indicated an intention to come to Bangalore. Four-fifths of them have given as their purpose for visiting either to meet suppliers and manufacturers or to evaluate products and perhaps place an order. About 38% of visitors will be employees or executive officers of automobile manufacturers or suppliers to the automotive industry, according to a registration breakdown issued by TAGMA. Other sectors strongly represented include engineering (19%), electrical components (13%), and plastics processing (9%).
