Mouser Introduces Laird Connectivity Sterling-LWB5+ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Modules for Next-Generation IoT Applications

February 18, 2021 – Mouser Electronics, an authorized global distributor of Electronic components focused on introducing new products, is now stocking Laird Connectivity’s new Sterling-LWB5+ module. This module provides Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.1 communications for next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) devices including battery-powered medical devices, industrial IoT sensors, rugged handheld devices, and a variety of other connectivity solutions Program.

The Laird Connectivity Sterling-LWB5+ module, distributed by Mouser Electronics, features the Infineon CYW4373E solution to support reliability and security needs in industrial IoT scenarios. Ideal for harsh environments, the module features a solder-in module form factor that minimizes vibration and shock, and is rated for an industrial temperature range of −40°C to 85°C. The Sterling-LWB5+ series offers a variety of small PCB modules with optional integrated pre-certified external antennas, as well as several M.2 form factor solutions that allow the designer’s Linux platform to be more flexibly integrated with the host.

For better integration, Laird Connectivity also manufactures and certifies a range of internal and external antennas, as well as reverse polarity SMA cable assemblies specifically for Sterling-LWB5+ modules. These antenna products include the proven FlexPIFA, Nanoblade and Mini Nanoblade Flex internal antennas as well as external dipole antennas.

The Sterling-LWB5+ module supports the new WPA3 security standard. The devices’ integrated power amplifier and low noise amplifier (LNA) ensure reliable connections even in complex RF environments. The Sterling-LWB5+ is available in a variety of antenna options and is FCC, IC, CE, MIC, AS/NZ and Bluetooth SIG certified.
