As one of the projects, the “Electrolytic Cell Intelligent Shell Breaking and Cutting System”, under the research and development of the branch, Guiyang Aluminum Magnesium Design and Research Institute, Central South University and other units, entered the upper tank expansion test phase in February this year.

Compared with the traditional ordinary compressed air shelling cylinder, this project adopts the “measurement of cylinder piston stroke” mode, and digitally controls the “liquid entry” depth of the shell cylinder in the electrolytic cell through digital signals, and cooperates with the “intelligence downloading”. Material controller”, through the preset shelling depth control, according to different groove shapes, set different shelling depths to achieve the function of non-sticking and non-blocking.

As of the end of August, after a half-year test, the anode effect coefficient of the electrolyzer in the test area has been reduced by about 50%, the long bag and jamming of the electrolyzer have been greatly reduced, and the labor intensity of the personnel in the cell has been reduced by more than 30%, and the results have exceeded expectations. The system has laid the foundation for the promotion and application of the whole series of branches.
